Filing of tax online can sometimes prove to be a challenging task. Almost each and every tax payer at some point of time needs help and assistance. But e-filing has now been made easy by the Government of India. The Income Tax Department today announced the setup of a new helpline number in order to help the tax payers in e-filing their returns as well as conducting other tax related businesses online.
The advertisement issued by the department asked the tax payers to pay heed as the e-Filing help desk number has been changed. It also stated the new Help desk number, which is 18001030025 as well as a direct Number—+918046122000 to assist tax payers. A panel of experts would be deputed to answer the general queries of tax payers. The setup of this independent helpline would surely redress the grievances of a number of tax payers of the country.
Taxpayers can make use of the e-filing portal of the department to file their income tax returns (ITRs) along with performing other income tax related tasks on the portal, which is: https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
As per the report of a senior officer, the new helpline numbers can be called in case of any issue on the e-filing portal. Income tax helpline number can be reached at in case of any kind of issue related to e-filing of tax returns, e-filing website login issues, rectification of ITR, ITR-V receipt status, income tax refund and refund re-issue, Permanent Account Number, TAN, Form 26 AS and Form 16. This move will probably bring out ease of operations and would assist the tax payers in filing their online tax return as well as conducting other tax related transactions online.
The department also has announced separate helpline numbers to take queries and respond to them on various other issues faced by a tax payer.
