As per the media sources, Virat Kohli will be back on the cricket grounds in early 2018. Team India’s tour of South Africa, is supposed to be the biggest challenge for the captain. After hosting the final wedding reception in Mumbai, with the Queen of Bollywood, Anushka Sharma, Virat attended the pre-departure Press briefing with coach Ravi Shastri. The South Africa series will be a tough test for India and Kohli is prepared for it.
Addressing the media, Kohli said that his marriage was something really special and returning to cricket would not be difficult. He further added that he has been trained for three weeks to play in South Africa and he is mentally well prepared. The team’s hunger for victory is also the same.
India would be playing three Tests, 6 ODIs and 3 T20Is from January 5 in South Africa. The couple will fly to SA where Virat will be preparing for the upcoming matches and Anushka will return in first week of January after spending the New Year’s Eve with him.
The Virushka receptions were grand, wherein the couple hosted the first ceremony for their near ones in Delhi on December 21. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the function. The second reception took place in Mumbai and witnessed the presence of past and present cricketers, including coach Anil Kumble along with other sports personalities like Saina Nehwal. Bollywood icons like Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif also graced the occasion.
Initially India will be playing three test matches in Cape Town. The second test will be played in Centurion from January 13. The final match of the SA series will be hosted at Johannesburg from January 24.
Post which, in February, India and South Africa will be participating in a six-match ODl and three-game T20 International series.
