Losing two test matches against South Africa has raised too many questions on the selection procedure of the Indian team. Not two test matches have seen the same team under Virat Kohli. Besides press and other cricket experts, even the skipper of the opponent team, Faf Du Plessis informed he was amazed to see so many frequent changes in the Indian cricket team.
Till date the Indian team has played 34 test matches under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and every time the team members have changed. The South African captain on to say that this process may have worked for India at their home matches but it is not going to help them at South Africa; reason being, the home team is prepared for every player Indian team brings on the ground and no one can surprise the South African crickets.
Faf was also happy that they were able to battle down the strong and famed Indian batting line up easily in the first two test matches. As per the individual score records, out of the three highest, two are from India; but still the fact remains that India is yet to win a test against South Africa this session. This happened because though Hardik Pandya scored 93 at Cape Town and Virat Kohli scored 153 at Centurion, they did not get much support from the rest of the batsmen and wickets fell at regular intervals at both these tests.
Though they have lost the test series but still as a proud team India will give a hard competition, says Faf in the third and final test match. As a matter of fact the last test is at Wanderers where India has never lost a match before. As they started their game on Wednesday, India looked in high spirits.
